On Trend: Women’s Fall 2024 Fashion Trend Report (2024)

We’re thrilled to once again present our bi-annual shoppable trend report, an endeavor that we excitedly pursue for a number of reasons. As the fashion industry’s leading digital wholesale platform, we have a rich understanding of fashion and visibility into what trends will be popular for the coming season. Additionally, we are uniquely positioned to make these insights actionable by presenting a platform on which buyers can directly shop the runway trends from current linesheets available on JOOR.

For Fall 2024 we’re entranced by the deep crimson color of the season and inspired by how it was interpreted by famed designers including Victoria Beckham, Khaite, and Prabal Gurung. Quintessential leather will be pivotal this fall, brought to life by Saint Laurent, Gabriella Hearst, and Valentino, and playful ruffles showed up on the runways in a variety of ways, from Libertine’s outrageous maxi gowns to Chloe’s boho flowing layers. Fall knits have never been cozier or chunkier, a trend well represented by Stella McCartney, Sacai, and Michael Kors, while classic slip dresses are back in rotation, as interpreted by Ann Demeulemeester, Altuzarra, and Brandon Maxwell. Finally, fluffy textured winter whites were a big hit across the board and we’re obsessed with the interpretations by Erdem, MSGM, and Ulla Johnson. Once you’re done exploring these trends, head to JOOR Passport to shop and add these trends to your store’s assortment.

Trend 1: Oxblood Red

It’s bold, rich, and just a bit dramatic, and it’s the color of the season so get ready to see it everywhere. Intense Oxblood Red was spotted all over fashion month and we love how the designers incorporated this hue in a number of ways. Victoria Beckham expertly crafted fluid silk dresses while MSGM chose to pair bold patent leather pieces together. Perhaps what we like most about Oxblood is how it translates seamlessly from the runway to the sidewalk.

Trend 2: Leather Weather

Leather may be fall's best friend but you've never seen it like this before. From Ulla Johnson to Proenza Schouler, the luxury runways shouted their love for the fabric and we're sure it's going to be everywhere come fall. From Saint Laurent’s smooth matte bombers to Cecile Bahnsen’s’ inventive mixed media minis, designers tapped into their creativity to bring new life to this quintessential fall fabric.

Trend 3: Ruffle Up

Thought ruffles should be relegated to spring? Think again. Playful and sweet, we love how designers incorporated ruffles into a slew of different styles for fall—or in Chloe’s case, based a collection around their flowy, iconic ruffle silhouettes. Ever bouncy skirts and dresses from Tory Burch and Giambattista Valli were a lovely juxtaposition to darker, more serious fall styles as featured in the runway show of Richard Quinn.

Trend 4: Cozy Knits

Everyone loves a cozy knit for fall and the runways of this past fashion month were no exception. Knits may be a fall staple but they feel fresh and new thanks to the efforts of Stella McCartney, Holzweiler, and Peter Do. From chunky cable knits to exaggerated, oversized sweaters, you'll want to drape yourself in these interesting yet wearable styles.

Trend 5: Let It Slip Dress

A classic that never goes out of style, silk and satin slip dresses are making their return for Fall 2024. Floor length and fluid, they ranged slightly in silhouettes from Brandon Maxwell’s cap sleeves toGabriella Hearst’s spaghetti straps. We're imagining these gorgeous staples paired with leather jackets and rich knits and thinking they'll be popular in a range of colors and silhouettes.

Layers of plush, off white texture helped bring our Fuzzy Winter White trend to life this season.
